Kitchen Ideas #001
Wednesday, March 26th, 2008
So I decided to start a series of posts called “Kitchen Ideas”. The purpose of these posts is to showcase some kitchen designs that some colleagues and I have done in the past. I will try to put details of the items that make up a design; without further delay lets kick it with a simple design…
This is a very simple and clean kitchen layout. The highlights of this kitchen are:
- Double Wall Oven Cabinet - 30″ wide x 84″ tall x 24″ deep.
- “Tower” style* Wall Diagonal Corner Cabinet - 36″ tall.
- Glass Mullion Door** for Wall Diagonal Corner.
- Wall Pantry - 24″ wide x 84″ tall x 24″ deep.
* Thats what I called when the wall cabinets in a kitchen have different heights.
**Glass Mullion Door is a Glass Door with a wood grid.

Hi, thanks for your comment. To answer your question(s):
No, the fridge is not counter depth and yes it will stick out. For this particular case the owner was given the option but for her budget that was her choice.
As for the double oven cabinet the depiction does not represent the same dimensions as the cabinet dimensions that the particular cabinetry company offered, fault of the person who made the layout.
The corner cabinet is actually a 36″ lazy susan. I’m all against anything smaller than 36″ for the corners as I mention on my “Standard Cabinet Dimensions Part 1: Base Cabinets” post.
I really appreciate comments as that will give more insight to other readers; so thank you again Jeanette.
